Further information

An exciting role has arisen for an Attendance Officer to work across all year groups to support us in one of our key objectives in reducing pupil absence levels.

This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates with previous experience in an education or social care setting to work with pupils and families to overcome and respond to attendance concerns and ultimately to improve learning outcomes. In addition to working closely with staff to analyse data and develop systems to improve attendance you will conduct regular home visits, therefore a full driving licence is desirable.

Candidates must possess a good understanding of the issues that impact on pupils’ attendance combined with effective interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate both empathy and assertiveness when required.

We can offer excellent developmental opportunities due to the senior leadership team’s commitment to ongoing improvement and staff working together to offer the best available chances for all our pupils.

We are a three form entry school with 52 place nursery located on the north western edge of Blyth on the Northumberland coast, only 15 minutes from Newcastle upon Tyne.

This post is offered on a variable hours contract initially starting at 27.5 hours per week (8.30am – 2.00pm every day) with the flexibility of increasing to 35 hours per week if necessary. The post is on a fixed term basis, however, there is potential for this to be extended.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced criminal records check is required for this post.

Further information about the school can be found on our website.

An application pack, including an application form, is available to download from the supporting documents section.

Completed application forms should be returned directly to the school by post and/or by e-mail, no later than midday on Thursday 30 September. If you email your application, please phone the school office to ensure that we have received it
