Safeguarding services are looking to appoint an Assistant team manager in a Middlesbrough children's' social work care planning team.

You will be joining a supportive and innovative department and be integral in changing the face of Middlesbrough and enabling the town and its people to grow and prosper.

The post is to support the Team Manager in managing the Child Protection and Child in Need children's social workers within Middlesbrough.

The assistant team manager will have responsibility for assisting the team manager in supervising and guiding social workers and resource workers when working with children and their families, they will be expected to deputise in the team manager's absence and support the team manager in attending and chairing meetings. The assistant team manager will also hold a reduced complex caseload.

If you have excellent organisational, communication and management / supervisory skills, you may be the person that we are looking for.

You must have experience of working with young people, working within a team and have excellent motivational and negotiation skills.

The successful candidate should hold a BA in SW / DipSW or equivalent with relevant complex social work experience and be completing or have completed post qualification qualifications. Management / supervisory experience is desirable but not essential.
