Assistant Team Manager, Children with Disabilities

Grade 9 - £39782 - £43662 per annum, plus payment of an Essential Car User Allowance of £1239 per annum and 2% Recruitment and Retention Allowance.

Together for Children is a newly established Company in Sunderland which works on behalf of the Council to deliver children’s services in the city including social care, early help and education.

If so, then think about joining our Children with Disabilities Team and being part of our journey to excellence. This is a unique opportunity to join us at the start of an exciting and innovative programme of change as we shape and develop our new dedicated children's company, Together for Children Sunderland.

You will work directly with children and families, as the allocated Social Worker to monitor and review the implementation of Child in Need, Child Protection. LAC Plans and progress cases via Care Proceedings ensuring that children needs are being met. You will you have a supervisory role of providing direct supervision of Child & Family Workers who work alongside the Social workers within the team. You will be expected to deputise for the Team Manager and will be expected to cover roles such as Chair Strategy Meetings, Chair Team Meetings, attend Child Protection Conferences, PLO Panel and oversee less experienced workers in court. You may be called upon to attend a variety of Meetings/Panels including Transition/Court/Child Protection/External Placement Planning and Permanence.

Please note all applicants must have successfully completed Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
