As a Procurement Apprentice, you will develop valuable skills, knowledge and experience.

You will work across the Corporate Procurement Team of Durham County Council within Procurement, Sales and Business Services. The structured training programme will enable you to gain experience, further education and broad base skills.

The apprenticeship role involves learning how to support Procurement Category Specialists (PCS’s) in the management of procurement projects and tendering activities to establish the required contractual relationships and ensure that procurement spend is strategically managed to achieve sustainable social and community benefits and continuous improvement in service delivery.

The apprenticeship will be based in County Hall, Durham but you may be required to work at any council workplace within County Durham.

You will be studying towards the Commercial Procurement and Supply Level 4 standard via Darlington College

You must have or expect to achieve 2 A Levels Grades A-C (or equivalent qualifications) and already hold GCSE’s grade A*-C/9-4 in English and Mathematics

You must be able to manage your time effectively and possess good interpersonal skills.
