Library Services is seeking to appoint 4 Library Engagement Assistant Apprentices to positively promote the benefits of the whole library service, engaging with residents across all communities. The apprentices will develop a good knowledge and understanding regarding public library universal offers and the city’s broader cultural offer.

This is an exciting time to join the service with the forthcoming Culture House development and digitisation projects amongst others.

As a Library Engagement Assistant Apprentice, you will undertake the Level 3 Library, Information & Archive Service Assistant apprenticeship 1 day per week within the workplace. You will be supported through the apprenticeship by an assigned assessor and you will also receive regular mentoring in the workplace from your supervisor/colleagues.

You do not need to have prior experience to apply for this apprenticeship as full training will be provided that will cover all aspects of the role. In order to apply for this role, candidates will have or will expect to achieve 3 GCSE’s at Grade 4 / Grade C or above including Maths and English. We also welcome applications from candidates who have a level 2 Functional Skills qualification or equivalent in Maths and English.

This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to an enhanced DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
