This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and forward thinking local government legal team, to gain a law degree and to qualify as a solicitor upon the successful completion of your apprenticeship.

During the apprenticeship you will work across the Authority’s Legal Service to gain knowledge and experience in the wide range of legal areas it covers including: child and adult safeguarding, housing, anti-social behaviour, criminal and civil litigation, information governance, licensing, planning, employment, education, committees, land and conveyancing, contracts and procurement. As you progress within your apprenticeship you will be given increasing levels of responsibility to appropriately assist with your development.

The ideal candidate will have the confidence to deal with various individuals and groups both internal and external. You will be supported to undertake recognised qualifications whilst gaining valuable on-the-job experience. You will need to be a team player, reliable, adaptable, conscientious, pro-active and able to work to instructions whilst also able to exercise initiative.

This apprenticeship is 37 hours per week, fixed term for 6 years.
