Further information

North Tyneside Council Housing is offering an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, professional and enthusiastic individual to join its Housing Operations team as one of a team of Neighbourhood Housing Officers reporting to the Neighbourhood Housing Manager.

You will manage a small neighbourhood area and deliver a range of services to achieve performance targets and maximise customer satisfaction.

The purpose of the Neighbourhood Housing Officer role is to ensure our tenants can sustain their tenancies. You will work with tenants and deliver a range of support and, where necessary, enforcement measures.

As a Neighbourhood Housing Officer you will undertake a variety of duties within the Neighbourhood Housing service and your primary focus will be on supporting tenants through:
• Developing a professional relationship and maintaining contact with tenants
• Carrying out estate inspections
• Dealing with breaches of the tenancy agreement
• Minimising rent arrears
• Minimising the impact of Welfare reform and in particular the introduction of Universal Credit

In this role you will be in daily contact with people helping them resolve any housing debt or tenancy related issues. Ideally candidates will demonstrate the following.
• Experience of working in either a social housing / finance / property management role.
• Good numeracy, negotiation and communication skills and a proven track record of meeting targets.
• Ability to manage workloads to meet a range of deadlines

If this sounds like an opportunity you would find interesting and challenging, and you are up for that challenge we look forward to hearing from you.

For an informal conversation about this role, please contact Gary Wilson 0191 6437632, or Dave McKenna 0191 643 7720.

Previous applicants need not re-apply.
