Further information

North Tyneside Council are looking for people with excellent customer services skills to deliver an out of hours service to its customers, this includes working nights, weekends and bank holidays to deliver this essential service.

You will be the first point of contact for tenants reporting emergency repairs and routine repairs outside of normal working hours, along with other non-telephone based communications and enquiries.

You will provide an excellent service by assisting customers with enquiries relating to all housing repairs, planned maintenance, and Schools and Public Building repairs.

To be successful you will be required to diagnose repairs to determine what is and what is not an emergency repair, take details of repairs, progress outstanding works, liaise with tenants and residents, update contractors and update the internal systems. You will also be required to undertake a range of administrative functions including updating the system with planned works programmes, job completions and processing customer satisfaction information etc. when not handling calls. Full training will be given.

We are looking for applicants with previous customer service experience. A relevant customer service qualification and/or experience of working in a repairs and maintenance business or environment is desirable.

Appropriate enhancements will be paid including a night working enhancement of time and a third for all hours worked between 8:00p.m. and 6:00a.m.

For an informal discussion please contact Nicholas Mitchell on 0191 643 6857 or Adam Hagg on 0191 643 7717.

North Tyneside Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

In addition, staff and volunteers are expected to familiarise themselves with all relevant policies, procedures and guidance in relation to safeguarding children and safe practice with vulnerable adults. Within North Tyneside, safeguarding is everybody’s business.
