We are seeking to appoint a caring, highly motivated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join our happy staff team, to support a child in our school. This role is to commence as soon as possible.

This is a 1:1 role to support a young child in Key Stage 2, who requires emotional and learning support. The successful candidate will work closely in a team with the class teacher and another teaching assistant.

We are looking for somebody special who can form strong relationships, has a sense of humour, is resilient, imaginative and wants to make a positive difference to the lives of children. The ideal candidate will be able to use their own initiative, work well as part of a team and have a commitment to safeguarding and the well-being of children.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant Level 2 Child Care or Teaching Assistant’s qualification and have prior experience working within SEN, specifically SEMH. Ideally, the successful candidate will have up-to-date training in positive behaviour management but for the right candidate, this will be provided.

This is an opportunity to join a warm and welcoming staff team, in a community based school rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted (June 2018).

Our school was re built in 2011 and offers a high quality, attractive learning environment. We are committed to developing and nurturing staff through many opportunities for cpd.

Berwick Hills Primary is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Safer recruitment practice and pre-employment checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed. This post is subject to an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (DBS) check.

Interviews Thursday 15th November 2020

Visits to the school are welcome by appointment, please contact the school to make arrangements.
