Adoption Tees Valley is the Regional Adoption Agency for the 5 Local Authorities of Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Stockton.
ATV is seeking suitably qualified and experienced social workers to be part of the Pool of Casual Assessors, who can undertake temporary work when requested, to help the service progress timely assessment of prospective adopters.
The service has set ambitious targets for the number of adopters who are approved within the year, in order that we can find families for the children who require adoption, in the Tees Valley area, and reduce delay in helping them to achieve permanence. In order to meet our timescales, we are seeking to appoint a pool of Casual Assessors, who will be willing to take on work, and be part of the extended team at ATV.
Work is paid hourly, inclusive of holiday pay, and our estimate is around 60 hours per assessment.
You will receive supervision on at least 3 occasions during the assessment, induction training, and on going training as required, to help you maintain team requirements. You will be invited to attend 2 hours team meeting per month, also to help you maintain the team standards, and communications. We value all of our staff and Casual Sessional Staff are part of our team too.
The role involves allocation meeting; undertaking the assessment, which currently is mostly through use of video conferencing; following up on checks and references; writing the PAR, presentation to panel, and a handover visit.
