earningSkills, Youth Education and Skills team are looking to appoint a Casual Level 2 Teaching Assistant to work within their provision. The role will be supporting tutors to enable them to effectively teach young people, some of whom have challenging lives. The young people will be aiming to achieve a programme of study or traineeship.
It is essential that you have knowledge of and commitment to anti-discriminatory practices, an understanding of current support practices and an awareness of the barriers that young people face in completing their studies.
You must possess good oral and written communication skills and be willing to undertake further training and development. You must have GCSE Maths and English and hold a teaching assistant level 2 qualification or equivalent or be willing to work towards this qualification.
It is essential that you have experience of working with disadvantaged/and or challenging groups of people and have the ability to form effective relationships with a wide range of people. You must be flexible and willing to work in a variety of settings and have experience of providing support to individual and groups of learners. You must also be empathetic to learners who face barriers to learning.
You must possess general administration skills to successfully support learning programmes.
