Caretaker – Grade 2
Full Time, Whole-Time, Permanent Position

£18,065- £18,426

The Governors of our fully inclusive, successful and welcoming school seek to appoint a Caretaker to start with us as soon as possible.

The successful candidate must be reliable, diligent, cheerful, enthusiastic and caring, who will work successfully with our hard-working and dedicated team.

We are an OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) school and promote outdoor play in all weathers. Our Caretaker will play an important role in looking after the school site, including our OPAL provision.

Job Purpose – To contribute to the smooth running of the school by carrying out a range of caretaking duties including security and supervision of the site and related equipment, and other caretaking duties including porterage, occasional cleaning, maintenance and repairs as well as general handyperson tasks. Our Caretaker will also attend external school visits on occasions.

Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. Please note that this position is whole time, which means that you will be in attendance at work all year round (52 weeks a year) and will have an annual leave entitlement (26 days if you have less than 5 years continuous local government service, 31 days if you have in excess of 5 years continuous local government service; pro rata for part time).
